When can I book my campsite?
Enter your arrival date and we'll tell you the day and time reservations open, in your own time zone, so you can be online the minute they do.
How booking windows work
- Most Recreation.gov campgrounds use a rolling six-month window: a date becomes bookable about six months before, and most inventory is released at 10:00 am Eastern. Some campgrounds use shorter windows. Always check the campground's "Seasons & Booking" tab on Recreation.gov (Recreation.gov FAQ ↗).
- Yosemite releases its reservable campgrounds five months ahead, on the 15th of each month at 7:00 am Pacific, in month-long blocks (nps.gov ↗).
- Popular sites go in minutes. Log in early, save your payment details and have two or three backup sites ready.
- Missed it? Cancellations happen every day. Set up a sold-out campsite alert.
This calculator follows the published rules above. Campgrounds can change their windows; the campground's own Recreation.gov page is the final word.
